Wood Green Campus

This is where the training and rehearsal work for Performance, Technical and Directing students take place.

The facilities include:

The Ralph Richardson Memorial Studios

Main Reception, Rehearsal Studios, the Library, Students’ Common Room and Offices. This is the base for the Principal, Deputy Principal, Head of Registry, Finance, Community Outreach & Professional Development, Marketing Departments and Acting Programme staff offices.

Sir Cameron Mackintosh Studios: Opened by Sir Cameron Mackintosh in May 1996; consists of specialist Dance and Musical Theatre Studios, The Jill Meggido Studio for Performance, Keyboard Laboratory, Students’ Common Room and the Musical Theatre Programme staff offices.

Sir John Mills Studios

Rehearsal and Singing Studios.

The Production Programme

Based in the Chocolate Factory 1 and 2, the facilities include the Academy’s Wardrobe, the Technical Theatre student office and Production Programme staff offices.

The Stage Suite

Opened in 2001 by Catherine Comerford, Managing Director of The Stage Newspaper which generously sponsored IT equipment and software, this purpose-built suite fitted out in consultation with experts from various companies including the Royal National Theatre provides Technical Theatre students with well-ventilated, modern rooms including a Design Studio, Wet and Dry Props Room, state-of-the-art Sound Studio and a CAD Suite.

The entire Wood Green campus includes two adaptable Performance Studios, twenty- four Rehearsal Studios, ten Singing and Music Tutorial Rooms, Radio Studio, a well-equipped Television Studio and Editing Suite, Construction Workshop, Library, Students’ Common Rooms, Café. Showers and Changing Room facilities.
Peter Coxhead Memorial Library: The library holds books, audio and video collection of a wide range of arts-related subjects plus IT provision.

Performance Facilities

Productions are presented throughout the year in various venues around London including the Bernie Grant Arts Centre. Jacksons Lane, the Charing Cross Theatre, Waterloo East Theatre and The Cockpit Theatre.

Mountview is currently exploring plans for a move to a new building to accommodate its growing student population and new courses.  The aim is to relocate by 2014.
