Course Structure
Term One
- Musical Direction students will attend selected classes with performing students to explore singing, acting and voice techniques.
- Musical Direction students will assist the Musical Director on a performance workshop with Musical Theatre students.
- Musical Direction students will observe professional Musical Directors, Directors and Choreographers working with the third year performing students.
Term Two
Assisting the Musical Director in rehearsals and performances of third year Musical Theatre final productions, performed in London venues.
Term Three
Students (subject to standard achieved) musically direct a modern book musical workshop with Musical Theatre students, working alongside a Director and Choreographer.
Masterclasses will be organised from time to time with visiting specialists in arranging, conducting and musical direction. In addition to the above and subject to standard achieved, students may have the opportunity to give individual coaching sessions with the performance students, play for auditions and experience their own vocal arrangements being sung by performing arts students. The course content, listed above, is subject to change depending on level at entry and development throughout the year.
