Mountview have created this accessible one-week introductionary course to explain the art and craft of lighting design. The course is aimed at anyone from the keen beginner to those with some experience. We aim to provide students with an understanding of the lighting design process - from model box to plan drafting together with the basic practical skills required to rig, power, patch, focus and use the latest lighting kit including moving lights, LED equipment and state of the art consoles!
It'll be a busy but fun week and one that will allow students to find out the answers to some basic questions like 'How do I begin lighting for a show?', 'How do moving lights work?', 'What are LED lights and how can I use them?', 'What lighting console should I use?', 'How much do I need to know about electricity?' All this and more will be practically explained by the course tutors who are all working professional lighting designers. The week will end with a spectacular sound and light show using all the knowledge the students have gained throughout the week.
All adult summer courses run from Monday – Friday 10am – 5pm. There are no classes at weekends.
