Sightreading Club at Mountview

Sightreading is a great way to work on your craft.  One of Mountview’s recent Alumni has developed the Sightreading club as an opportunity to practice, whilst getting to know important plays and working with a varied group of actors. All Mountview Alumni are welcome to join for these free drop in sessions.

The Club meet weekly at Mountview on Wednesday evenings and focus on influential plays from playwrights through the ages within the sessions.

Creative Debuts – Grants for Creatives

Black Artists Grant (BAG)

Offered by Creative Debuts as a no-strings attached financial support to help black artists. They can spend the £500 grant on whatever they want – be that make new work, buy equipment or materials, travel, research, visit exhibitions or conferences, or to even just cover some life expenses. This grant has been set up because Black artists are systematically under-supported by the art world. Recipients are chosen monthly. Click here to apply.

Working Class Creatives Grant (WCCG)

This is a no-strings attached financial support to help creatives of all ages who are in the early stages of their careers. They can spend the £500 grant on whatever they want – be that make new work, buy equipment or materials, travel, research, visit exhibitions or conferences, or to even just cover some life expenses. Southwark Council Creatives Directory

Southwark’s Culture team are about to launch a directory of creative freelancers who live or base their practice in the borough. They’ll look to promote it to cultural organisations to encourage them to hire more people locally. Performers, musicians, technical production and writers are all welcome.

  • tell us about you and your connection to Southwark or a neighbourhood within it – whether you work here, live here or both
  • share some contact details and links to your work online (websites, social media or both)
  • upload an image that represents your work
  • pick the categories you want to be listed under, or suggest one.

S&G Party Team – Have you sorted your side hustle yet? 

SHARKY & GEORGE is a creative events company specialising in FUN for children and adults.

We’re looking for confident, energetic and mischievous people to join our legendary party team to lead active games and immersive experiences at our epic events.

The role is fun, WELL PAID and freelance with exciting opportunities abroad.

Pay: £52 – £92 per 2hr party – based on experience

Perform – Flexible Teaching Opportunities

Perform are currently hiring performing arts graduates for flexible teaching work around acting careers. They are recruiting drama teachers who can sing and dance for Perform classes all over London, the South East, Bristol, Cheshire and Nottingham.

Full training is provided.

Rates of Pay: £27.85 – £33.42 per hour.

If you have a 3 year qualification in drama, dance or singing, you’ll need to attend one of our monthly group auditions. To arrange this, please email your CV, headshot and covering letter to recruitment@perform.org.uk

Alumni Scene Club

A place for graduated actors and directors to work on their craft by staging and performing scenes. Find out more here.

How does it work? Alumni Scene Club is organised in monthly cycles. Sessions take place on Thursday evening from 6pm – 9pm at Mountview in Peckham, London.

What are the costs? 50 GBP per person per monthly cycle.

Little Tanks – Drama Teachers Wanted

Little Tanks is in search of Drama Teachers to join our fun & creative team from September. We are looking for someone who is able to use their initiative & imagination to build a nurturing environment for our Little Tanks members to grow in confidence. We currently have teaching opportunities on the following days & times from the 11th of September until the 12th of December. Find out more here.

Tuesday – 3.10-4.10pm Egham, Surrey

Pay: £35 per session.
