Experience three weeks of intensive acting training at one of the UK’s top drama schools. Mountview has been training actors for over 75 years, with alumni including Giles Terera (Hamilton), Josh Dallas (Once Upon A Time, Manifest), Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey) and Louisa Harland (Derry Girls). The Acting Summer Boot Camp is designed to offer an introduction and access to world-class drama school training at an affordable price. Taking place over three action-packed weeks, you’ll receive 90 hours of training from Mountview’s expert staff in our purpose-built and cutting-edge building in Peckham.

Working alongside industry professionals, you will learn how to pick and prepare the best classic and contemporary monologues for you, unlock your creativity, improve your technique and get the inside track to success at drama school auditions.

Week one includes 30 hours of intensive professional actors’ training.

Sessions will cover:

  • Acting: unlock creativity and explore truth and connection to character
  • Voice: an introduction to the principles of vocal technique teaching you how to use this amazing instrument
  • Movement: discover how to access character through observation and physicality, explore the importance of body language and connect your body to the text

Master these key skills and you’ll be on your way to becoming a professional actor.

Five days of practical work demystifying and breathing contemporary life into Shakespeare’s words. Unlock the secrets of acting the world’s greatest playwright.

This week will take the fear out of understanding and acting Shakespeare.

Get the inside track to success at drama school auditions. Learn how to pick and prepare the best classic and contemporary monologues for you, avoid clichés, and bring your character to life.

With only a few short minutes to impress an audition panel, make those minutes count!

This week is packed with rehearsal and mock auditions, advice and tips.



Three Week Acting Boot Camp£1,125

Applicants must be aged 17 or over at the start of the course and must be fluent in English. We require a level of English that is approx. IELTS 6.0. It is not mandatory to have taken English language tests prior to attending this course; we recommend that for non-English speakers if you have not completed Level 6 IELTS that you must have the equivalent English language experience.

Do I need to audition?

No, the Summer Boot Camp is open application. The course content is designed to accommodate introductory work for people with little experience, to push people with an intermediate experience and allow the more experienced to brush up on skills.

Do you have accommodation for those taking part?

There is accommodation available close by at Bernard Myers House – an independent Hall of Residence just 15 minutes’ walk away with 123 self-catering ensuite rooms available at £192 per week, including wifi, heating and electricity. How big will the group sizes be?

There will be a maximum of 16 people in each class.

What about COVID-19 restrictions?

Health and Safety has been paramount in design of the course content, to ensure that the course delivers rigorous training while maintaining the safest possible environment.

If COVID-19 lockdown restrictions were reinstated, meaning the course cannot proceed as planned, you will be offered a full refund and given the opportunity to book onto an alternative online-based course (subject to availability).

Please note that you will be expected to adhere to any COVID-19 building guidelines when attending the course, unless exempt.

Fees for short course are non-transferable.

If a student chooses to withdraw from a course after accepting a place, notice must be provided in writing and a refund will be made available in line with the table below:

No later than 28 days before course start date 100%
No later than 21 days before course start date 75%
No later than 14 days before course start date 50%
No later than 7 days before course start date 25%
After 7 days before course start date Nil

If a student chooses to leave a course prior to completion, full course fees still apply.

In the event that Mountview cancels or postpones a course due to circumstances beyond our control, any course fees paid will be reimbursed in full.  Should a course be cancelled once it has started, fees will be charged for training completed and a relevant % of course fees will be refunded to cover any training not taking place.

Mountview accepts no liability for loss of fees in the event that a student is unable to attend a course due to illness or accident, nor for expenses incurred by the student in advance of attending a course (which may include purchase of equipment, the cost of airfares, hotels) in the event that a course is cancelled or postponed.

It is strongly recommended that all students insure themselves to cover any potential losses.
