Summer Intensive: Musical Theatre

An introduction to drama school

Week one includes 30 hours of intensive professional Musical Theatre training.

Sessions will develop your skills in three areas which are essential for a professional performer:

  • Acting: unlock creativity, find a truthful connection, and bring characters to life
  • ·Singing: discover the principles of vocal technique, develop musicality, and improve your sight-reading
  • ·Dance: build stamina and strength, improve dance technique, and learn to express yourself through dance

Working with a professional creative team towards an ensemble performance, during this intensive week you will develop your skills and responses to direction, vocals and choreography. The focus in week 2 is on attention to detail and rehearsal process.

From getting into to drama school to breaking into the industry, auditions are key – and in week three you’ll work on how to make those vital audition opportunities count!

You will learn how to select, prepare, and perform both songs and monologues. The week is packed with techniques, rehearsals, insider knowledge and tips for unlocking success at your future auditions for drama school and beyond.
