Site-Specific Theatre Workshop: Objects and Atmosphere
No previous experience is necessary, only an interest in experimenting with using non-theatrical spaces for performance.
This is a workshop that:
- Explores creating atmospheres using objects.
- Looks at ways of developing narratives inspired by site.
- Examines the use of space in site –specific performance.
The Objects and Atmospheres Workshop will begin within an introductory talk about the nature of site-specific practice.
Participants will then move on to working individually and collaboratively, examining new ways of looking at performance and space.
Participants will gain experience of site-specific practice by devising new work and creating atmospheres in exterior and interior sites.
Throughout the workshop participants will explore using objects and looking at ways of creating narratives inspired by site.
Participants will be set performance exercises involving research and practical application around given themes, culminating in showings of small-scale site- specific performance/installations.
