What equipment / space will I need?

All online classes will be delivered through ZOOM. To get the most out of the classes we would suggest you use a laptop or desktop computer rather than a phone or tablet.

We would also suggest that you ensure you have a good secure connection to Wi-Fi/internet access.

You will need a space where you can engage in the work, so somewhere with the ability to move around would be great. It is also important to find a space where you can feel confident – somewhere you can throw yourself into the exercises and the work.

For safeguarding reasons we would ask that young people do not locate themselves in their bedrooms.

Most importantly you will need a pen and paper – the learning will be fast and you don’t want to forget key messages!

Who will I be working with?

The sessions will be led by the GENERATION N*XT team, who are all working professionals and are passionate about passing knowledge on to the current and next generation of actors.

Do I have to audition to join the classes?

No. Generation N*XT is open to everyone! Classes are designed to accommodate introductory work for people with little experience, to push people with an intermediate experience and allow the more experienced to brush up on skills.

Note: Entry into YOUTHQUAKE Theatre is via workshop.

How secure are online classes?

Ensuring the experience and work is safe is of the highest priority! We have developed stringent safeguarding protocols to enable us to work online. These include:

  • two members of staff in every class
  • a different ZOOM ID number and password each week

More information on full safeguarding will be sent out at enrolment, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss this essential part of our work.

How will it work online / What will we do?

Working, Acting and Teaching on-line has been something we have all learnt to do. While it will be a different experience to working in the studio – we are confident we have developed an engaging and rewarding approach.

Each term will be a combination of in-class ZOOM friendly theatre exercises and a selection of CREATIVE CHALLENGES. These challenges will relate to the work being covered and we will ask people to film and submit various creative challenges throughout the term.

Note: Content will vary on age group and discipline.
