...and Release Wins Best Written Film Award at US Festival

We are delighted to share that …and Release, the 2025 Acting course alumni short film, has been awarded the Elena Zastawnik Award for Best Written Film at the Magnolia Independent Film Festival in the United States.

 

Presented at the festival’s 29th annual edition in Starkville, Mississippi, the award recognises excellence in screenwriting and celebrates outstanding storytelling in independent film. The honour is a significant achievement for the project and a testament to the strength and craft of its writing.

 

The film was written by Asa Haynes, whose script was selected for this special recognition by the festival jury, and directed by Stuart Parkins.

 

This award highlights the professional practice and creative ambition emerging from Mountview’s Screen Acting department, showcasing the calibre of work being developed by our acting alumni both during and beyond their training.
