A Place For You

Mountview is one of the UK’s leading drama schools.

We offer professional vocational training at Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate level in performance and production arts.

The hands-on, intensive coaching at Mountview nurtures thought, energy and commitment. It provides the tools needed to succeed in a competitive industry. The results speak for themselves: we achieved an overall student satisfaction score of 89% in the 2019 National Student Survey (NSS). This puts us in the top 25% of UK higher education providers and in the top four drama schools nationwide in terms of overall student satisfaction.

Alongside our full-time training we offer evening, weekend and holiday classes for all – irrespective of age, background or experience. As well as dance, movement and wellbeing activities we offer classes in creative arts such as stand-up comedy and film making. Southwark residents receive discounted places through the Southwark Presents scheme.

At the heart of our building are two theatres: the 80-seat Backstage Theatre and the 200-seat Mountview Theatre. We present around 28 productions across the year including classic plays, new writing and musicals. Southwark Residents will receive discounted tickets.

As part of our commitment to developing the next generation of theatre we work with some of Britain’s leading writers to develop new work for the stage. Recent commissions and stagings have included work from Roy Williams and Philip Ridley.

Opening out onto Library Square Westland Coffee and Wine is open throughout the day.

A restaurant and rooftop café/bar with views of the London skyline from Battersea to Greenwich are coming soon and will be open to all.

Our studios, meeting rooms, theatres and workspace are available to hire with discounted rates for not-for-profit, community groups and alumni.

On the first floor we have a meeting room overlooking Library Square as well as office/work space for use by small creative companies.

There is a West End scale rehearsal room on the third floor for use by professional performing arts companies.
