generous creatures
23 Jun
Writer and Director Emily Oxley
Producer Anna Hulm
An exploration of the spiking epidemic currently infecting nightclub culture in the UK, generous creatures mixes contemporary and Shakespearean language to ask why we have allowed violence against women to run rampant for so long. Vicious, sticky and bitter, it promises to be an unforgettable event.
Emily Oxley (she/her) is a director from London. Her passion lies in queer and female centred stories. She wants to make work that explores not only the intricacies and difficulties faced by these communities but also (and more importantly) their many joys. Prior to Mountview she was the Artistic Director of Three Pound Coin Theatre, a queer theatre company based in Edinburgh focused on amplifying marginalised voices.
Duration: 1 hour (no interval)
generous creatures will feature strobe lighting, loud music, strong language, and themes relating to violence, sex and drug use.
