View Festival 2025

Mountview’s MA Creative Producers present View Festival 2025: two weeks of theatre shows, events, and opportunities to meet over and discover each other worlds through the lens of theatre.

We invite the audiences to step into twelve different perspectives — to question, to empathise, and to reimagine the world around us. It is a place where art meets creativity, where stories become bridges, and where we build community through the lenses of new writings.

Stroke in the Sun

Producer Nico Bowden

Zee is lost. Or at least Zee thinks she's lost. Zee isn't entirely sure of anything anymore - after what seems like a lifetime in that place she's forgotten everything and everyone. Her purgatory may as well be called home, so when a silent stranger comes along one day, Zee finally has a chance to find out where she has been all this time, and why.

Crescent Crisis

Producer Holly Stocker

Z is spiralling - her girlfriend dumped her (again), auditions are a disaster (as usual), and her best friend is the Moon, who is 238,855 miles too far away (and a planet). A play about falling apart, talking to celestial bodies, and accidentally making art - not for success, but just to feel something. Or anything. Or maybe nothing. Who knows.

Locked Doors

Producer Monica Rutherford

Have you ever had the dream where the doors lock behind you, and no matter how much you pound and scream no one comes to let you out? These women have lived it. Have you ever felt so alone that you feel like you’re actually losing your mind and maybe communing with the dead? No? That’s awkward, because Joey has.

Until Spring Comes

We naturally strive to extend kindness to those perceived as "different." Yet an excessive emphasis on benevolence and pity can foster unintended discrimination. True understanding requires more than goodwill—it demands listening. The voices of those who are "different" deserve to be heard, not just our assumptions about them. After all, they always say “just treat me as a regular guy.”

Metamorphosis

Producer Mary Lee Wallin

Metamorphosis: Between Illusion & Reality is an immersive exploration of perception, identity, and the boundaries of self. Inspired by Zhuangzi’s Butterfly Dream, this one-performer experimental work weaves movement, projection, and sensory experience. Audiences are invited to reflect on the line between reality and dream, in a poetic meditation on transformation and meaning.

Interior/Exterior

Producer Victoria Lee

Have you ever felt inanimate? Do you want to burrow underground and hibernate for the next 10 years? Have you ever felt like a cheetah, running as fast as you can across the desert, leaving everyone else behind? Interior/Exterior is an absurdist comedic play that explores feelings and viewpoints on life through the perspective of non-human objects.

The “Normal” One

Producer Saoirse McCarron

Kiera’s family is a little different to most. Her brother, Marcus, has autism which often leads to the question: ‘what is it like to be the normal one?’. Brew in hand, Kiera reflects on her relationship with her brother and her family dynamic recalling memories, recognising people’s attitudes towards neurodiversity and considering what the future holds for their sibling relationship.

Danzig

Producer Vittorio Parri

What is left when our memories are all gone? Danzig is an exploration on the theme of memory loss, getting old and everything that comes with it. Set in a room where time and space dance together, Gertrude tries to stitch together little fragments of a past that is slowly drifting away. Will she manage to say goodbye in time?

Maja moves to London seeking a fresh start, but her idea of life away from home is crushed by the not-so-perfect reality. Constantly challenged by the claustrophobic room, an empty fridge, and the deafening silence she used to long for, Maja attempts to navigate her new reality, one milestone at a time, and questions what it means to truly ‘belong’.

The Weight We Carry

Using the backdrop of the Troubles, The Weight We Carry explores the roots of generational trauma, manifestations of it and ways to help cope with it.

THE INSTITUTION OF FAILED ARTISTS
