A Year of Impact: Mountview's 80th Birthday Fund

20 Oct 2026

“80 years is more than a milestone. It’s a feat of defiance and we are redesigning the obstacle course.” – Sally Ann Gritton, Mountview Principal & CEO

Last year, Mountview celebrated eight decades of dramatic arts training. This major milestone was a chance to champion our staff and alumni’s achievements, to thank our friends and supporters, and to build momentum around our next decade of work.

Greater financial and wellbeing support for our students will be central to that. Our goal was to raise £80,000 for the Mountview 80th Birthday Fund, so we could start delivering this.

We are thrilled to share that thanks to the generosity of people like you, our incredible supporters and Mountview community, we raised an extraordinary £87,110.

Across the year, this funding has helped us deliver:

  • Scholarship support to 22 students
  • Emergency grants to 33 students
  • A wider programme of welfare and learning support to 172 students, including 568 counselling sessions and 119 formal learning assessments and support plans

“My confidence has had such a massive transformation… This scholarship is utterly essential for every student to be able to bring their deeper commitment to the work, so thank you very much for this precious help!” – Scholarship Recipient, 2026

To everyone who supported our campaign, thank you. We were overwhelmed by the excitement, enthusiasm and generosity of our community, and are grateful to everyone who celebrated with us and supported our fundraising efforts.

As we celebrate these remarkable achievements and look towards our next 80 years, we know there is still much more to do. Rising living costs continue to place enormous pressure on students. Keeping world-class training accessible to talented people from every background will only be possible with the continued support of our Mountview community.
