Will trained at The Central School of Speech and Drama and has worked freelance in professional lighting and lighting design since 2002.
His work spans London’s West End (Why The Whales Came, I Believe in Unicorns, Aliens Love Underpants), International touring (The Way Back Home, The Night Before Christmas, Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!) and a wealth of children’s shows. He has lit shows from Moscow to Glastonbury and from Hong Kong to Toronto.
In 2011 He lit the inaugural show at the new Bush Theatre, the epic 66 Books with over 120 cast, 21 directors and a performance lasting a full 24 hours, which then transferred to a special one night only performance in Westminster Abbey.
He has lit for Shakespeare’s Globe (Dream Space) and The Welsh language National Theatre; Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru (Estron).
Work for Broadcast includes Romeo and Juliet – Cbeebies Presents for the BBC, Oliver Twist for NT Live and work on BT Sport’s Premiership Football coverage.
Other design credits include Beryl (Oldham Coliseum), Moomin Summer Madness (Polka Theatre), numerous pantomimes in Hertford, Halifax, Chelmsford and Chipping Norton. Will is also associate lighting designer on the landmark production of An Inspector Calls (PW Productions/National Theatre).
