AUDITIONS
The audition process is designed to explore your current and potential abilities, and your suitability for a career in the profession.
Most auditions take place in-person, either at Mountview in Peckham or at one of our regional audition days. For international candidates and those with exceptional circumstances, we offer the option of submitting an online audition.
Auditions for our CertHE and Undergraduate courses are open to students who are 18 (or who will be turning 18 during the first term of their course) or 21 or over if you are applying for our Postgraduate courses at the time of course entry.
Please be aware that the MA Performance courses may become full before the application deadline and in this event candidates may only be offered a reserve place or applications will close early. We recommend early application to avoid disappointment.
CERTHE AUDITIONS
First-round CertHE auditions take place online. Candidates will need to submit a video of them performing their selected material – details of how to submit the application, along with tips and filming advice will be sent upon application.
Digital submissions require no additional equipment other than yourself and a device to record on – this can be a mobile phone. A large space to audition in is not essential, and if you only have access to a small space you will not be penalised.
There is a £35 audition fee for CertHE auditions.
Successful candidates for will be invited for an in-person recall which will include workshops and panel auditions. In-person attendance at recalls is mandatory and details will be provided after your first-round audition. There is no additional fee for recall auditions.

BA PERFORMANCE AUDITIONS
BA Performance auditions take place in-person. We offer a range of audition dates and locations to make the process as accessible as possible, and encourage you to choose an audition venue that is close to your home address.
For international candidates and those with exceptional circumstances, the option of an online first-round audition is available.
There is a £50 audition fee for BA Performance auditions.
Successful candidates for will be invited for an in-person recall which will include workshops and panel auditions. In-person attendance at recalls is mandatory and details will be provided after your first-round audition. There is no additional fee for recall auditions.

BMUS PIANO FOR THEATRE AUDITIONS
BMus Piano for Theatre applicants will be invited to attend an audition and interview with the course leaders at which you will present pre-prepared piano pieces and discuss your interests, influences and previous experience. More information will be provided once your application has been received.
The audition will take place in-person at Mountview. For international candidates and those with exceptional circumstances, the option of an online interview is available.
There is a £20 application fee for the BMus Piano for Theatre course.
MA PERFORMANCE AUDITIONS
MA Performance auditions will take place in-person over a full day, with the first round taking place in the morning and successful candidates being invited to stay for their recall, including an interview with a member of the Postgraduate team, the same afternoon.
For international candidates and those with exceptional circumstances, the option of an online audition is available. For those auditioning online, if you are recalled you will be asked to attend an online recall with the Head of MA Performance. The online recall will include an interview where you may be asked to perform your speeches again.
There is a £50 audition fee for in-person MA Performance auditions and a £40 audition fee for online MA Performance auditions.

MA/MFA MUSIC DIRECTION
Candidates will be invited for an audition where you will be asked to perform two pieces that you have prepared. You will then be asked to sight-read a piece of music and coach a singer.
The audition will conclude with a short interview with the course leader, where you will have the opportunity to discuss previous experience and any questions you may have about the course.
There is a £20 application fee for the MA/MFA Music Direction course.

FEE WAIVERS
Mountview has long championed inclusive practice and is committed to breaking down barriers to drama training. We will do all we can to support applicants from the early stages of admissions, and have implemented a range of measures that directly tackle the intersectional nature of barriers.
Low Income Households – Partial and Full Fee Waivers
We offer a limited number of full and partial fee waivers for individuals from low income households. Based on your annual household income, you may be eligible for one of the following two fee waivers:
- Household income under £15,000 (based on the 24/25 tax year) – Full Application Fee Waiver
- Household income between £15,000 – £21,000 (based on the 24/25 tax year) – 50% Application Fee Waiver
Please note that due to high demand, availability each year is limited, so should you wish to be considered for a low income fee waiver, we strongly encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
Low Income Fee Waivers are capped at one per applicant, to allow as many applicants as possible to access this programme.
Southwark Resident Fee Waivers
As part of our commitment to supporting local people into training we are pleased to offer free auditions to any applicants currently residing in our home borough of Southwark.
How do I apply?

For both low income and Southwark resident fee waivers, you will find a link to a Google Form when you make an application to one of our courses within your Mountview Student Application Portal.Before submitting your application, please complete the Google Form; the form will ask for information on your current circumstances and allows you to upload the relevant documentation as evidence to support your application.
- If you are applying for a Low Income Fee Waiver, you’ll be asked to provide proof of your household income for the 24/25 tax year. This can include a P60, a tax return, or a selection of pay slips that stipulate either your household earnings as an independent student, or that of your parents/carers if you are dependent.
- If you are applying for a Southwark Fee Waiver, you’ll be asked to provide proof of address (e.g Council Tax / Utilities Bill, Bank Statement, etc) to confirm you are a resident in the borough. This must be dated within the past 3 months.
Our Admissions team will then review your documentation, and confirm your eligibility within 7 days, so you can proceed with submitting your application with the relevant fee waiver applied.
