We are excited to announce Mountview’s Autumn Season of productions, showcasing the talents of our BA (Hons) Performance – Acting, Actor Musicianship and Musical Theatre students, with the support of our Production Arts students.

When the Earth is no longer habitable, humanity must find a new home in a neighbouring solar system. People are organised into groups and evacuated according to their importance to society – the musicians are evacuated last.
Mockingbird 1, created by by Jonathan Ip in collaboration with The Daywalkers Collective and adapted specifically for our Actor Musicianship cohort with an original score, blends sci-fi and folk to ask a bold question: does art need humanity?

Babies

”They say that when you first become a parent
The purpose of your life is so much greater
Well today’s the day that I become a parent
To a robot baby simulator…”
Summer is over, and Year 11 has been handed one big assignment: keep a plastic baby alive for a week. Easy, right?
This heartwarming, joyous British pop-rock musical, brought to life by our Musical Theatre cohort, follows a group of fifteen-year-olds as they learn that parenting takes a lot more than nappy changes. Between growing up, finding true friendship, and figuring out who they are, they’ll navigate all the pressures of teenage life alongside the surprising demands of parenthood.
The production has been made possible thanks to the incredible support of Crossroads Live, who have generously awarded Mountview the exclusive first license for this newly developed version of BABIES.

“YOU HAVE TO BE NUTS TO MAKE THE STUFF!”
Step into a vibrant, renowned art gallery on the final day of a major exhibition. Throughout the day, you’ll observe a cavalcade of over 50 ridiculous characters – some engaging deeply with the artwork, others barely giving it a glance.
Museum, performed by our Acting cohort and written by acclaimed American playwright Tina Howe, is a funny, absurd comedy that draws you into every conversation and encounter in the gallery, exploring the nature of art and what it truly means in our lives.

“The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen…”
When Queen Elsa and her hidden powers turn the kingdom of Arendelle into an everlasting winter, her little sister Anna embarks on a journey to find her and break the spell threatening their people.
Featuring Oscar-winning music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, this enchanting musical, adapted from the cultural sensation, includes beloved songs such as “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” Frozen is brought to the stage by our Musical Theatre cohort, and promises thrilling surprises and lots of snow!

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol
8 – 11 Dec | The Mack

a chance and hope of escaping my fate. A chance and hope of
my procuring, Ebenezer.”
Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter old man who despises Christmas, is forced to confront his selfish ways when three ghosts visit him on Christmas Eve. Guiding him through his past, present, and future, they set out to transform his life forever.
Performed by our Actor Musicianship cohort, this retelling of Charles Dickens’ festive classic comes complete with an inventive, music-filled staging – and might just spook you along the way…

“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.”
Rosalind and her cousin Celia flee to the Forest of Arden, where nothing is quite what it seems. They stumble into a place where opposites attract, identities are mistaken, and love can be found – though not always easily recognised…
Performed by our Acting cohort, this love-struck Shakespearean comedy gets a fresh, contemporary twist – packed with plenty of laughs along the way.
