TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT

The engagement of the contractor does not establish an employment relationship. The assignment is as discussed and agreed with the relevant Head of Department or Course Leader. The contractor agrees to act for and on behalf of Mountview as per the assignment agreed by the relevant Mountview Head of Department or Course Leader.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY

You must not disclose or use, at any time, either during your engagement or subsequently thereafter, any confidential information you create, use, or have access to at Mountview, which is not available to the public, whether or not developed by yourself, and must adhere to the normal rules of business efficacy. You may work for other companies, but you must recognise that you will access commercially valuable information whilst at Mountview, and to safeguard Mountview’s interests it is essential that you protect this information by keeping it confidential. You must respect the confidentiality of all data stored electronically and by other means, including any staff or student data, in keeping with the Data Protection Act, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and all other current data protection legislation.

 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

You must take all reasonable measures to safeguard your own health and safety and that of any other person who may be affected by your actions. You must act at all times in accordance with Mountview’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.

We strive for equality of opportunity in our practices and procedures, and we operate formal policies accordingly. Breaches of these policies will lead to investigation and appropriate action. The aim of the policies is to ensure no employee, worker, contractor, student, or other service user is bullied, harassed or discriminated against either directly or indirectly on the grounds of age, disability, race, religion or belief (including atheist belief and no religion or belief), gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, sex or sexual orientation. We work to maintain a working environment in which no-one feels threatened or intimidated. Contractors must not act in a discriminatory fashion towards any other employee, worker, contractor, student, or other service user.

 

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE AND CONDUCT

If your standards of performance and conduct are unsatisfactory, you will be notified in writing and required to rectify the cause of dissatisfaction. If the situation is not rectified satisfactorily, your services may be terminated, and you may not be requested to undertake further assignments. In the case of misconduct, services may be terminated with immediate effect.

 

SAFEGUARDING

Mountview believes that the health, welfare and safety of all members of our community are of paramount importance, and that all people without exception have a human right to be protected from maltreatment or harm of any kind.  In order to uphold these principles, anyone engaged to deliver a service at Mountview, regardless of their role, is expected to familiarise themselves with the Safeguarding Policy and Child Protection Policy, and in particular ensure they are aware of how to go about reporting any safeguarding or child protection concern.
