OUR WORK IN PECKHAM AND BEYOND

Mountview stands on the corner of Peckham Square, in the heart of one of London’s most vibrant communities. We are committed to working with, and for, those that call Peckham and Southwark home, and believe the arts have a vital role to play in community health, happiness and cohesion.

Our outreach programmes ensure everyone has the chance to explore their creativity and with your help we can engage even more young people in Southwark and beyond.

Generation Next

Our flagship outreach programme Generation Next works with nearly 250 local young people aged 6 – 18 each Saturday during school terms, offering affordable classes in acting, musical theatre, ballet, hip hop dance and much more. As well as a vital opportunity for young people to learn important fusion skills (like communication, collaboration, creativity and confidence), Generation Next is a key access point for lifelong participation in the arts, with a number of young people progressing to full-time vocational study at Mountview and beyond.

Over 50% of Generation Next participants are from low-income families. Thanks to your philanthropic donations, we can offer hundreds of bursaries to cover the costs of participation.

A £5 donation could cover the cost of a child’s ballet class
£25 could help us provide an additional teaching assistant for a class
£50 could support a full term of classes for a young person
£125 could support in-depth skills training for 16-19 year olds as part of our Acting Collective

Regular Giving

You can also support our work by making a regular gift by Direct Debit. Whether a monthly or annual donation, every gift will make a difference to those we work with. Thank you.

Community Engagement & Widening Participation

Every year, Mountview undertakes projects in London and beyond to identify talent, level the playing field to success and open up access to the arts for all. From free drama workshops in local secondary schools, to adult evening classes and creative community projects, we believe in the transformational power of the arts and are committed to creating opportunities for those who wouldn’t traditionally engage in creative programmes

We can only do this with the support of people like you. If you would like to find out more about supporting our community and outreach work, or if you represent a Trust or company that shares our commitment to young people, if you have any questions about our Participation programmes, please contact our Development Team on Development@mountview.org.uk.
