ENGAGE: Young People's Saturday Classes

SATURDAYS | 10:00 – 15:30 (times vary)

The ENGAGE Young People’s Saturday Classes for young people aged 6-18 years are a place to:

  • Underpin your acting & performance skills
  • Unlock your creativity
  • Unleash your imagination

Acting

Working with professional actors and directors, these classes are designed to ignite a creative curiosity and develop core acting skills. Class content varies depending on age and progression, but students can expect to cover a range of skills including: Improvisation | Character Development | Text | Physical & Vocal Expression. Students present a showing of their work for friends and family in most terms.

Acting 6-8 years: 10:00-11:00        £75 per term
Acting 9-11 years: 11:00-13:00       £90 per term
Acting 12-14 years: 11:00-13:00    £90 per term  
Acting 15-18 years: 11:00-13:00    £90 per term

Song & Dance

Working with a Director/Choreographer and Musical Director these classes are a place to develop your singing voice, musicality, rhythm, movement and dance skills. Working towards an end of term showing, classes will cover a selection of songs and rehearse vocal harmonies and choreographic routines. Students can expect musical theatre as well as rock and pop.

Song & Dance 6-11 years: 11:00-13:00   £100 per term

Performance Mix

Working with a Director/Choreographer and a Musical Director these classes will develop core performance skills while unlocking artistry and creativity. Class content will vary each term and will cover a wide range of material, but students will work on their dancing, singing and acting and can expect to work on: Musical Theatre | Plays | Songwriting | Choir | Dance

Performance Mix 12-18 years: 13:30 – 15:30    £100 per term

TV & Film

Working with a professional actor and a studio technician, this class focuses on the core skills of screen acting. Students will use scripts and audition monologues to practice acting in front of a camera and hone their creativity as performers.

Autumn term 2017: Saturday 16 September – Saturday 27 November (half term Saturday 28 October)
Spring term 2018: Saturday 13 January – Saturday 24 March (half term Saturday 17 February)
Summer term 2018: Saturday 21 April – Saturday 30 June (half term Saturday 26 May)
