Caught between her domineering mother at home and the casual cruelty of her peers at school, Carrie White does not fit in anywhere. But something is stirring. Something is happening. And some things are going to change forever. 

Inspired by the Stephen King novel and performed by Mountview’s BA Musical Theatre students, Carrie is a teenage girl like no other. Beware.

This production features strobe and flashing lights, sexual references, scenes of a sexual nature, threat, mass school violence, blood, suicide, animal cruelty, references to sexual violence and sexual assault, parental abuse, references to infanticide, religious discrimination, bullying, homophobia, public humiliation and strong language.

Dan Herd

Director

Dan is Head of Public Performance at Mountview.

As a director, he worked at The Old Vic, Lyric Hammersmith, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Theatre Royal Haymarket, Soho Theatre, Theatre503, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, at Smock Alley Theatre, Samuel Beckett Theatre and Project Arts Centre (Dublin) and at both the Public Theater and 59E59 (Off-Broadway).

Previously for Mountview: Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Romeo and Juliet, Alice in Wonderland, The Wolves, King Lear, Hamlet, A Clockwork Orange, Boy, Six Characters in Search of an Author and Legally Blonde.

Lindsey Miller

Musical Director

Lindsey Miller is a freelance musical director, award-winning composer, arranger and keyboard programmer originally from Glasgow, Scotland. She attended the University of St Andrews and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Lindsey has finished working as Musical Director for the Royal Shakespeare Company's 2019-2020 season which played the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-Upon-Avon, The Barbican, London, and national and international touring venues. For her RSC debut season, she worked as MD for The Taming of The Shrew (dir. Justin Audibert), As You Like It (dir. Kimberley Sykes) and Measure for Measure (dir. Gregory Doran). She is also deputy MD/Joan for the UK tour and West End productions of SIX The Musical. Other credits with RSC include: Twelfth Night, Julius Caesar, Henry VI: Rebellion, Henry VI: Wars of The Roses, Much Ado About Nothing: The Merry War.

Other theatre credits include:

Kat Stone

Costume Designer

Kat is a BA (Hons) Costume Design for Stage and Screen graduate from Wimbledon College of Art.

She is a costume supervisor at Mountview since May 2023 and has worked on a number of projects including most recently Next to Normal, Against, Curtains, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Spring Awakening, truth and reconciliation and She Loves Me.

Before Mountview, Kat worked on many productions at the Royal Opera House in the costume department.

She has over 10 years’ experience in a variety of costume roles in wardrobe hire, ballet, opera, musicals, plays and film.

Alex Musgrave

Lighting Designer

Alex designs lighting for theatre and opera across the UK and Internationally.

Most notably Home at Chichester Festival Theatre, Figaro the Musical (London Palladium), The Forsyte Saga – Part 1 & 2 (Swan Theatre – RSC / Park Theatre) and The White Factory (Marylebone Theatre).

Alex has been nominated for two Offie Awards for Best Lighting Design.

Other venues include Soho Playhouse - New York, Wolly Mammoth Theatre - Washington DC, The Sailsbury Playhouse, The Lowry - Salford and the Birmingham Hippodrome.

Russell is a composer and sound designer from Lancashire.
