Announcing Jim Howick and Dame Rosemary Squire as our latest Mountview Ambassadors

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jim Howick and Dame Rosemary Squire as our latest Mountview Ambassadors!

A BAFTA-winning actor and multi-BAFTA nominated writer, Jim Howick is best known for appearing in the hit BBC comedy Ghosts, which he also co-writes and executive-produces. Jim currently stars in Here We Go for BBC One and will be filming series 4 in 2026.

Dame Rosemary Squire previously served as Chair of the Board at Mountview and is a leading figure in British theatre. Alongside her husband and business partner Sir Harold Panter, she co-founded the Ambassador Theatre Group in 1992 and then Trafalgar Entertainment where she is currently Joint CEO and Executive Chair.

Launched at the end of 2025, the Mountview Ambassadors scheme forms part of our 80th birthday celebrations. The 26 Mountview Ambassadors come from a wide range of backgrounds and industries, including the arts, politics, business and media. They are united in their commitment to elevating the next generation of creative talent, both onstage and offstage.

Jim Howick: “Mountview is and will always be a definitive part of my life. We are all different and Mountview didn’t prescribe a method or force a philosophy but rather encouraged me to extract what I, as an individual, needed from each lesson. To focus on what I and my characteristics could offer to the industry. I made friends I still cherish. I had the best time and I’m proud to be an Ambassador.”

Dame Rosemary Squire: “Mountview is an incredible institution, one that is close to my heart, so I’m delighted to be joining its Ambassador community. As a current Mountview Patron, and former Chair of the Board, I’m proud to have a long association with the academy, witnessing firsthand the impact that grass roots knowledge and training can have on young, aspiring performers. Everyone deserves the same big break in life, regardless of background, wealth, or personal circumstance, and Mountview is providing these opportunities and literally changing lives. I would urge anyone with a love for the arts, and a desire to nurture and shape the next generation of theatre makers, to support Mountview’s fundraising programme, and help make a real difference to the lives of young creatives and performers.”

The Ambassador role involves advocating for Mountview and championing its values, as well as inspiring students and encouraging them to pursue their potential with confidence. They will actively collaborate on projects to enhance the Mountview offer and increase its positive impact.
