Every July and August, Mountview runs an extensive programme of summer courses from our award-winning home in Peckham. Designed for a range of ages, abilities and interests, our courses are led by leading industry professionals and offer a dynamic introduction to life at one of the UK’s top drama schools.

Highlights from Summer 2025

The 2026 programme will be announced in January, offering exceptional opportunities to train, create and perform with Mountview.

Summer Intensive: Acting (18+)

A three-week course offering rigorous, practical training in acting for stage and screen. Participants refined their skills in voice, movement, text and ensemble work, exploring classical and contemporary material with Mountview’s expert tutors. The course provided a realistic insight into the demands of full-time actor training, perfect for those preparing for auditions or looking to deepen their craft.

Summer Intensive: Musical Theatre (18+)

An immersive introduction to Mountview’s world-renowned Musical Theatre training. Over three weeks, participants developed technique and confidence across acting, singing and dance, building towards a collaborative showcase. The course mirrored the rhythm and rigour of professional drama school life, with daily classes led by experienced practitioners and guest tutors from the industry.

Summer Intensive: Musical Theatre (15–17)

A two-week summer school designed for young performers exploring their passion for Musical Theatre. Through workshops in acting, singing and dance, participants built foundational skills, learned to interpret material with confidence, and gained insight into the expectations of professional training. The course offered a supportive environment for creativity, growth and fun.

Dramatic Combat Intensive (Standard & Intermediate)

A six-day course exploring the artistry and discipline of stage and screen combat, taught by professional fight director Marcello Marascalchi. Offered at both Standard and Intermediate levels, participants developed weapon and unarmed combat techniques, building precision, safety and storytelling through movement. Training took place in Mountview’s state-of-the-art facilities and culminated in an internationally recognised BADC qualification, equipping attendees with valuable, industry-standard skills for stage and screen performance.

Introduction to Directing / Theatre-Making: Building Your Toolkit

A week-long exploration of directing and devising for emerging theatre-makers. Under the guidance of award-winning artist Barry Fitzgerald, participants learned how to collaborate with actors, lead rehearsals, develop original concepts and bring stories to life. The course encouraged experimentation and confidence in creative leadership, offering insight into the craft of directing from page to stage.

Musical Theatre Summer School (ages 9–14)

An energetic and confidence-building introduction to performance for young people. Across five days, participants explored acting, singing and dancing through ensemble games, creative exercises and group routines. The week culminated in a joyful Saturday showcase for friends and family in Mountview’s professional studios as a celebration of teamwork, imagination and fun.
