Devising Theatre (Ages 18-25)
18 February - 24 March, 12-4pm
Over six weeks, aspiring actors, and theatre enthusiasts between the ages of 18-25 will cultivate their skills in acting and theatre production. Participants will work together in a youth-led company, collaborating with accomplished facilitators to devise a play that conveys their unique take on this year’s theme ‘home’.
Workshop Practitioners
Abi Falase: “I am a Non-Binary, Black British Nigerian creative from South East London. My work is rooted in creating productions that are what I like to call ‘Feel Good Social Realism’. I wrap big discussions about everything from race and gender to capitalism and economy in comedy, because if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.”
Molly Tompsett is a neurodiverse artist and theatre maker. She graduated from Goldsmiths University of London with a degree in Performance Politics and Society. Her one woman show Ribbon Around a Bomb premiered at Theatre Peckham part of Peckham Fringe and last year’s Peckham Sessions. As a facilitator she has worked for the British Library. She has previously exhibited at the Hastings Contemporary and researched for various fine artists. Her practice is based on merging a variety of references to create vivid imagery.
