Sharps
25 Jun
Writer and Director Esalan Gates
Producer Gift Onomor
A grieving doctor visits her friend’s bookshop for the first time in weeks after the impending Stay At Home order is announced. Stories flood the stage as they distract themselves again and again. How do we cope if we don’t know when the worst will be over?
Since 2016, Esalan (she/her) has written for festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe and Durham Drama Festival. While completing her English B.A. at Durham she directed plays with a focus on accessible but impactful Shakespeare. Her interest in literature, art and economics collided in Sharps, marking her London writing/directing debut.
Duration: 1 hour (no interval)
Sharps will feature occasional strong language and themes relating to grief/death and the covid-19 pandemic.
