Gideon is a Fellow Chartered accountant (ICAEW), having qualified whilst at Deloitte in 2006. He worked on audits across a range of industries and organisational sizes from SMEs to FTSE100 companies. After qualifying, he moved to internal audit at Talktalk before progressing into more commercial finance roles in companies of varying sizes. Many of his roles have been within organisations supporting the arts or education, with a particular focus on strengthening internal controls and improving management information to support better decision-making.
Gideon’s values have led him to focus on education wherever possible. In a previous role at a media make-up college, he acted as Managing Director for a six-month period, covering maternity leave and wrote the business skills chapter of the textbook “The Complete Make-up Artist Working in Film Fashion Television and Theare” third edition.
Gideon is passionate about developing the financial understanding of those around him. He places strong emphasis on the reliability of financial information and on ensuring it is used effectively to inform decisions. He has also worked as a consultant in two universities, supporting the development of management accounts teams and budgetary processes, including acting as finance partner for a major accommodation expansion.
Alongside his current role, Gideon is also a consultant to Delamar Academy of Make-up, providing strategic finance support.
