‘As with the commander of an army, so is the mistress of a house.’

Isabella Beeton was 23 years old when she penned these words in her Book of Household Management, published in 1861 and containing 2,000 recipes and with advice on everything from treating colds to navigating social calls. With a vibrant score and book that brings an array of Victorian characters to life, Mrs. Beeton Says… explores the reality, myths and gendered histories behind the best-selling cookbook.

The amateur production of ‘MRS BEETON SAYS’ is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. concordtheatricals.co.uk
