THINGS TO DO IN BELFAST
Belfast does not disappointment when it comes to indulging in new and unique experiences, with some of the best bars, pubs and live music venues in Northern Ireland. From traditional Irish settings to outdoor street-food markets, there’s plenty to keep you occupied outside of your studies.
Cathedral Quarter – If you’re looking for live performance, music and entertainment, look no further. Once a historic trading quarter, the cobblestoned streets of the Cathedral Quarter are now lined with street-art and home to an abundance of beer gardens and must-try restaurants.
The Duke of York – If you’re looking to sample a traditional Irish pub, try The Duke of York which is located down one of the area’s popular alleyways.
Queens Quarter – Boasting beautiful green spaces and botanic gardens, Queens Quarter is the place to sample some of Belfast’s vibrant arts scene.
Ulster Museum – Indulge in the Ulster Museum’s diverse collections of art, national science and history.
Queen’s Film Theatre – Northen Ireland’s leading independent cinema.
The Belfast Empire Music Hall – Top choice for live music, entertainment and stand-up comedy.
EastSide – Nestled between Stormont Estate and Titanic Quarter, East Belfast (also referred to as EastSide) is a bustling neighbourhood painted with an array of political and community murals, creating a visual conversation between Belfast’s contemporary and historic societies. The area’s hospitality and retail landscapes are ever evolving – so if you’re looking for independent galleries, vintage shops and creative studios EastSide is not one to miss.
Connswater Community Greenway – If you’re wanting to take a breather from city life, this 5.5-mile path spans the course of three rivers and follows the wildlife corridors of east Belfast.
Titanic Quarter – This waterfront development built on Belfast’s industrial past is a popular destination on the Maritime Mile.
SSE Arena – Northern Ireland’s premier entertainment venue, hosting a vast programme of shows including international touring concerts, theatre shows, comedy and live sporting events.
SU AND NUS
Mountview’s Student Union (SU) is made up of second-year students from across all courses who have been elected to represent students both inside and outside of Mountview. They organise social events, fundraise for charities, work with the National Union of Students (NUS), and act as friendly faces. The SU will be formed in July and include the following roles:
